Ways to stretch curls

Bunning:

This is a pretty easy way to stretch out your natural curls. Start with freshly washed, detangled curls, and apply a leave in conditioner throughout. Divide your curls into two sections, and brush down your edges. Some girls use a boar brush for this. Tie your curls into two low buns, and secure them in place. Allow to dry.

Braiding:

This is a very easy style that most can do on their own right at home. Start with damp curls, and split your curls into 2-4 sections, depending on how much hair you have. Apply leave in conditioner throughout, and then braid. Secure the braids at the very end, and then allow to dry.

Blow drying:
Begin with damp curls that have already been detangled. Start with small sections, and use a round brush to work through individual sections, drying completely. As you dry, gently stretch your curls.

Banding:

Start with wet hair, and detangle it. Then, divide your curls into 8-12 sections, depending on the length and density of your curls. Working section by section, work through your hair with hair bands. Allow your curls to air dry.

Butters:

While you’re stretching your curls, don’t use curl enhancing creams. Instead, you can opt to try a butter. Avocado or shea butters work really well to help stretch your curls while keeping them soft and easy to use.
