If you haven’t heard about the inversion method to help grow longer curls you’re not alone. Curlies will try just about anything to help them grow longer, stronger strands. Some curlies who have used this method have said they’ve seen greatly increased curl growth within weeks.
Since the inversion method increases blood flow to your scalp, you’ll only want to do this for one seven day period per month.
What to do:
This process takes seven days to really get going. If at any time you feel uncomfortable you should stop using this method, as it’s not for everyone.
Select and warm up your favorite all natural oil, such as olive or coconut oil. Do this by placing the oil in the applicator bottle and warming it in a cup of warm water. Microwaving the oil can kill some of the nutrients your curls need.
Once the oil is warmed up, apply it throughout your curls, massaging it into your scalp. Use your finger tips to gently work the oil into your strands.
Once the oil is applied, it’s time to get inverted! Get yourself into a comfortable position, such as leaning over the sink as if you’re about to wash your hair. You can also try sitting in a chair or on your couch and lean forward, allowing your head to dangle upside down between your knees.
Hold your head at a 45 degree angle for about 4 minutes. It’ll take some time to build up your tolerance for this position. Eventually you’ll want to work your way to holding your head at a 90 degree angle. Do this every night for seven nights in a row. Don’t skip any days.
You can cowash your curls on day two or three if you’re starting to feel as though they’re getting greasy from the oil.
