Have you ever wished for big, bouncy curls? No matter what your curl type, most of us have experienced the annoyance of flat curl days. Whether you have wavy curls that need an extra boost or tight curls that you wish would give a bit more volume, this quick and easy routine  can get you to the big curls of your dreams.

What you’ll need:

  1. Old t-shirt or microfiber towel
  2. Wide toothed omb
  3. Spray leave-in conditioner
  4. Curl-enhancing mousse
  5. Heat protectant spray
  6. Hair dryer with diffuser attachment

Step one:

After your shower, carefully blot each section of your curls to remove any excess moisture using your microfiber towel or t-shirt. This will eliminate excess water without creating frizz.

Step two:

Use your wide-toothed comb to gently remove any snarls or tangles. Start from the bottom and work your way up. You can use some leave-in conditioner if you need to create some slip.

Step three:

Apply a dime to quarter sized amount (depending on how much hair you have) of leave-in conditioner to your hands. Work it throughout your strands, making sure to coat every curl.

Step four:

Take a dime to quarter sized amount (depending on how much hair you have) of the curl defining mousse. Begin gently scrunching it through your hair. Flip your head to work it through all of your strands. Before beginning to dry your hair, make sure you spray your curls with the heat protectant spray.

Step five:

Turn your hair dryer on with the diffuser attached. Use a low heat setting. Settle a section of your curls over the diffuser, allowing them to be “cupped” by the attachment. Allow it to dry for 15-30 seconds before moving on to the next section of your hair. Continue on throughout the rest of your curls. If you have longer or thicker hair, this part of the process may take longer, so plan accordingly.

Step six:

Once your curls are completely dry, flip your head back over and enjoy your voluminous curls!
