4 Ways to Bring Out the Curl in Your Naturally Wavy Hair

Rake and shake: This technique was created in salons that cater to curly hair and allows you to define your curls by sectioning them. Once your curls are sectioned out, rake your fingers through your curls and then shake out the ends. This styling technique allows you to control how much volume and definition you want for your curls that day.

Plopping: You might also have know this styling technique by plunking. Curlies use this look to create really defined and tight curls. Apply product to wet curls and then plop them to create a tighter curls. Wrap your hair into a microfiber towel or t-shirt to help your wavy curls dry into defined, frizz free coils.

Scrunching and Plumping: For this technique, you’ll be kicking your scrunching up to the next level. Section your hair and scrunch each section exactly 8 times to create more defined curls. This techniques tends to develop closer, clumpier curls than just scrunching.
