Step one:

Start with second or third day hair. Flip your strands upside down, and refresh your strands with a moisturizing spray. Massage your scalp to create volume and lift, then flip curls back over. As a result, strands will be revitalized.

Step two:

Create a deep part on either side of your head. Create a thick braid on the thicker side of your curls, and braid to the bottom of your curls. Pick up hair as you go, so you’re pulling all the hair with you. Secure the braid with a similarly colored elastic.

Step three:

Repeat on the other side of the head, picking up any leftover hair on the smaller side of the part. Keep the braid loose, and avoid braiding either too tightly.

Step four:

Twist the bigger braid towards the back of your head, and create a knot. Secure the knot into place, and pin with bobby pins. Take the smaller braid, and cross it over. Wrap it around the knot, and secure in place. Loosen any of the braids you may like, or remove some small strands to frame your face.

Step five:

Spritz your hair with hairspray to hold the curls in place. If you’d like, you can dress up the twist with a flower crown, pearl combs, or clips.
