When you have curly hair, you might also have dandruff. Curly haired girls are prone to scalp irritations, because it's harder for them to get their scalps clean regularly. Product build up can also attribute to itchy scalps, so it's important to help keep your scalp healthy. If you've struggled with dandruff, there are some things you can do to help manage it, including this natural remedy.
When it comes to fighting your dandruff, there is a very easy fix. Fortunately, you might even already have it right in your kitchen cupboard! The secret to a dandruff free scalp is apple cider vinegar. The acidity works to help remove dandruff from your scalp, and re-establishes a healthy pH level, which will keep your scalp healthy. When you have a healthy scalp, your curls will grow much longer and stronger.
When it comes to keeping your scalp fresh, apple cider vinegar is one of your best friends.
How to use:
When you're in the shower and have wet hair, pour a cup of apple cider vinegar over your curls. Using your fingertips, massage the ACV into your curls, focusing primarily on your scalp. Once you've finished your massage, making sure your scalp is completely covered, rinse the ACV out and follow with a gentle cleansing shampoo.
If you're feeling a though your scalp could use an extra refresher, you can add baking soda to your refresher. Once you've added the vinegar, you can follow up with 1/3 cup of baking soda. Using your fingertips, vigorously scrub your scalp. Once you've finished massaging your scalp, make sure to thoroughly rinse your curls to ensure you remove all the baking soda and vinegar. Follow up with a gentle cleansing shampoo.
Follow up your scalp cleanse with a moisturizing conditioner to help create more slip when you style your curls.
