We don’t know about you, but we love any opportunity for DIY curl care! If you’re looking for a way to get longer, stronger and healthier curls, consider an egg mask! Eggs contain vitamins D, A and E, along with fatty acids, sulphur and proteins. While many curl care products promise to deliver the same results, they’re often full of harmful chemicals. Skip the chemicals and create your own curl care treatment with ingredients available right in your kitchen!

Mask for oily curls:

  • 2 egg whites (add more as needed for the length of your curls)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh aloe vera gel

What to do:

Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Put the whites in a bowl, and then mix in the ginger and aloe vera gel. Mix until all the ingredients are incorporated. Part your curls into several sections and then begin applying the mixture directly to the roots and scalp. Gently massage the mixture into your scalp for 5-10 minutes. Once the mask is applied, cover your hair with a cap and allow to sit for 20-30 minutes. The mixture will dry out, becoming sticky. Rinse out.

Mask for dry curls:

  • 2 egg yolks (add more as needed for the length of your curls)

  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt

What to do:

Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Put the yolks in a bowl, and the mix in the gooseberry powder and plain yogurt.
