We don’t know about you but we love a good hair hack! Here’s a few of our favorites to make your life with curls even easier.  Once you’ve tried some of these hacks , drop us a line to let us know if they’ve worked for you. We love knowing what other curly girls swear by when it comes to taking care of their strands.

Sections:

Whatever you do to your curls from shampooing, conditioning, detangling, and applying product, it should all be done in sections. This allows you to focus on one area at a time of your curls to keep product application consistent and making sure each area gets attention. Section your hair into smaller, easy to manage portions.

Twists:

Twists can help you get well defined curls but they can backfire if not done correctly.  Before you style your twists, squeeze out excess water then apply product and create your twists. If your twists won’t stay together at the ends, it might be time to schedule a trim with your stylist.

Edges:

Dealing with annoying edges? You don’t have to go all Kim Kardashian on your baby hairs and have them lasered off. We promise, this is a problem you can manage on your own! This can be managed easily! Spray your edges with water, and then follow up with a gel to hold down those wayward hairs.

Length:

Most curlies aren’t huge fans of shrinkage. It sucks when you’ve spent a lot of time trying to get your strands to appear longer only to have them spring back up. While you can’t completely stop it, you can manage it.  Making sure you schedule regular trims will keep your dead ends from splitting. To get more stretch you can also try dividing your strands into sections and banding them. Style your curls while they’re wet to get maximum length.
