Have you ever wished it was easier to manage your curls? Guess what? It can be! Here are some super fun tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your gorgeous locks.

Cover the sink:

If you stand over the sink to detangle your curls, odds are you’ve had a clogged drain. Beat this issue and make cleanup a breeze by covering your sink with a hand towel or Saran Wrap before detangling.

Use the right comb:

For detangling, make sure to use a wide toothed comb or your fingers to work through knots and tangles. This will help you get through the snarls without causing damage or overly disrupting your curl’s pattern.

Deep condition:

Make sure you’re deep conditioning regularly. You can do it prior to getting in the shower by applying conditioner to wet hair and covering it with a cap, or after you’ve shampooed. Just make sure to allow it to sit for 30 minutes to get the most out of the treatment. Don’t completely rinse out all of the conditioner but instead leave some on the ends of your curls to help lock in moisture.

Make your own cowash:

Shampoos can be drying to curls, which can lead to frizz. Instead of shampooing, you can either make your own cowash by mixing a conditioner with a small amount of shampoo, or picking up a pre made one. Cowash will remove excess build up and dirt from your curls without damaging them so it can be a good alternative to harsher cleansers.

Apply products:

Make sure you’re using the right products for your curls. This means making sure you’re reading the instructions on the package and applying the products correctly throughout your curls. Be willing to try different products, mix them up, and have fun!
