When it comes to curl care, we all know that natural is best. In addition to being chemical free, which is great for curls, you can find many of these ingredients right in your pantry. This makes them super cheap, and we don’t know about you, but we love saving some coin on curl care. Here are a few natural ingredients and how you can use them for natural curl care.

For moisture, use coconut oil. Once a week, melt some virgin coconut oil in a bowl. Allow it to cool for a few moments. Massage the oil into your scalp and throughout your strands. Cover with a shower cap and allow to sit for 30 minutes. Shampoo until the oil is gone and follow with a conditioner.

To clarify, pick up organic apple cider vinegar. After your weekly wash, mix 10 parts water to 1 part apple cider vinegar. Pour over your scalp and curls. Use a wide toothed comb through to the ends. Allow to sit for 3-6 minutes before rinsing.

When you want to grow longer, stronger curls, mix 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 tablespoons virgin olive oil, and 2 tablespoons filtered water. Pour over your head, working through your curls. Allow to sit for 20 minutes. This rinse works great for curlies prone to dandruff and dry scalp.

For a great monthly pick-me-up, take 1/2 cup of honey. After cleansing, work the honey throughout your strands. Make sure to coat every curl. Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap and allow to sit for up to 30 minutes before thoroughly rinsing. If your curls are dry, sun or chemically damaged, honey can help seal in moisture.
