Many of us are trying to grow longer curls.  It can feel like a very long and drawn out process. As a result, we like to find things to help speed that process up. Here’s what to add to your shampoo to grow long curls.

What To Add To Your Shampoo To Grow Long Curls

Aloe Vera:

People have been using aloe vera as a beauty treatment for years and the amazing benefits make this addition a no brainer.  Add fresh aloe vera gel or juice (squeezing your own is best!) to your shampoo. About 2-3 tablespoons should do it. It will help purify your curls to encourage faster, longer, and stronger curl growth.

Honey:

If you struggle with dry scalp or dandruff, consider adding honey to your shampoo. Honey contains natural anti fungal and anti bacterial properties, so it will fight any crud that’s taken up residence on your scalp or in your curls. Adding a few tablespoons to your shampoo or conditioner will help soothe an itchy, irritated scalp, smooth down strands and give your curls a sweet, shiny finish.

Castor Oil:

This oil is used to promote healthy curl growth. It works by encouraging blood flow to the scalp. Add it to your shampoo and massage into your scalp. You don’t need a whole lot for effective use.

Lemon Oil:

This oil you might want to approach with a bit of caution. While it smells great and has awesome antifungal properties, it can lighten your curls. You can use essential oils instead of freshly squeezed lemon juice if you want to avoid the lightening part.

Rose Water:

Whether you purchase or make your own, rose water can be really helpful for caring for your curls. It smells absolutely amazing and will infuse your curls with a floral scent. Add about 1/4 of a cup to your shampoo to reap the benefits.
