Seek out the right products:
there are so many unhealthy curl care products out there on the market. Many contain things like sulfates or parabens, which can actually be incredibly drying for curls. When picking out curl care products, make sure you’re looking for all natural ones that contain aloe vera. The aloe will moisturize and condition your curls.

Moisturize:

Aloe vera is loaded with moisture, which curls desperately seek. Almost all curly girls can use an extra boost of moisture in their curls.  It’s important to remember that well moisturized curls start with a healthy, well moisturized scalp. By applying aloe vera directly to your scalp, you can avoid things such as dandruff or other fungal infections. These issues will create dryness, flakes, and itch, as well as unhealthy strands.

What to do:

You can actually begin incorporating aloe vera into your regular curl care routine. Take a small amount of aloe vera gel or juice and rub it between your palms to emulsify it. Separate your curls into 6-8 even sections, depending on how much hair you have. Carefully coat each strands, making sure the aloe vera is completely covering all the strands. Once your curls are completely covered, place a plastic shower cap on your curls and allow the aloe to sit for at least 30 minutes, or more depending on how damaged your curls are. You can also apply gentle heat as well.

Aloe vera can also be diluted with a bit of filtered water and used as a leave-in conditioner. Spray or apply directly to damp curls, and don’t wash out for a moisturizing, all day treatment.
