While most of us are willing to spend a little more on our curl care to ensure we’re getting quality products, sometimes less is more. If you’re finding yourself strapped for cash and in need of a product that doesn’t cost a lot but can do a lot, consider picking up some cheap conditioner. You can put a cheap conditioner to work for you by using it in these different ways :

Detangler:

For curlies with thicker, coarser curls, a cheap conditioner can be a best friend. Use it on damp curls to detangle stubborn knots and tangles before washing or styling. You can use as much conditioner as you want because it’s so cheap, rather than using your more expensive products on managing knots or tangles.

Co- wash:

Use a cheap conditioner to create a cowash you don’t feel guilty about using too much of. Co wash works to remove excess oils and build up from your curls without stripping your strands of the natural oils they need to stay soft and damage free.

Protectant:

If you’re a swimmer and exposing your curls to chlorine regularly, consider using an inexpensive conditioner to help protect your delicate strands. Wet your curls and coat them with liberal amounts of conditioner to help keep them safe once you hit the pool.

Pre-poo:

Before shampooing, consider utilizing a cheap conditioner to slather on your curls. Whether you’re going to clarify your curls or shampoo them, consider coating your curls prior to shampooing. This will help protect them from losing their natural oils or sebum, which will prevent dryness. Using conditioner as a pre poo also will create great slip for your curls, which will keep them from knotting up and breaking.

Preventative:

Utilize your low cost conditioner to help protect your curls from damage, such as split ends. You can do this by using the Conditioner, Wash, Conditioner method. You can do this by conditioning your strands and shampooing just your scalp, rinsing and then applying more conditioner. This helps prevent the delicate parts of your curls from being damaged.
