Here's the recipes for a hair care masks made with ginger that can help prevent curl loss.

2 medium cucumbers

2 tablespoons ginger powder or freshly grated ginger

1/2 cup filtered water

What to do:

Cut up the cucumbers and put in a blender. Add in the ginger and blend until smooth. Add water in until you reach a paste like consistency. After washing curls, apply the mixture throughout, covering all strands. Leave on for 30 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Use a mild shampoo if needed.

Ginger Fenugreek Mask:

What you need:

1 cup fenugreek seeds

3 tablespoons ginger powder or freshly grated ginger

What to do:

Soak the seeds overnight. Toss into a blender with the ginger powder and mix until smooth. Apply to curls, making sure to focus on the scalp. Allow to sit for 2 hours before rinsing out with a mild shampoo and cool water.

Ginger Coconut Mask:

What you need:

5 tablespoons of freshly grated, mashed ginger

2 cups coconut milk

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1 medium cucumber

What to do:

Slice the cucumber and put into the blender. Blend until smooth, then add in the coconut and ginger. Then add in the coconut oil. Blend until the mixture becomes a smooth paste. This mixture might be a bit watery, so is best applied in the shower after cleansing. Cover curls with the mixture, massage into your scalp, then put on a plastic shower cap to avoid dripping. Allow the mixture to sit for 3 hours before rinsing. Use a gentle shampoo if needed, and follow with conditioner.
