Use Coconut Oil For Softer, Healthier Curls

What you’ll need:

Luckily, you probably already have most of these ingredients in your pantry.

2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil

1 large egg yolk

1 tablespoon of raw honey

10 drops of essential oils, such as tea tree, rosemary, or lavender

Use Aloe Vera For Amazing Curls

What to do:

This treatment couldn’t be easier! First, melt the coconut oil and allow it to cool for a few minutes. It should still be liquid, but shouldn’t solidify. Additionally, you don’t want the egg yolk to cook in the oil if it’s too hot. Mix in the egg yolk, the honey, and essential oil. Blend until completely incorporated, and smooth.

Wash your curls, using a gentle cleansing shampoo. Make sure to scrub your scalp to remove any buildup and begin loosening debris. Additionally, a scalp massage will enhance blood flow and increase circulation. This means your curls will grow more quickly.

After your curls are washed, gently squeeze out excess liquid.  Apply the mixture throughout your curls, making sure to completely cover all your strands. After the strands are covered with the product, place your curls under a plastic shower cap. Cover with a warm towel, and allow the product to sit for sixty minutes. The heat will help the coconut oil penetrate deeply into your curls, smoothing and softening dry strands. After you’re done, rinse out the product with warm water. You might need a bit of shampoo to completely remove the product.

This mask is best for girls with thicker, kinkier coils. For curlies with finer strands, consider using a more lightweight oil, such as olive, avocado, or almond.
