Whether your curls are recovering from the Big Chop, or you’re hoping to gain a few more inches, it can be agonizing to wait for your curls to grow out. Whether your growth seems a bit sluggish, or you’d like your strands to pick up the pace a bit, you can try some natural curl treatments to help encourage your strands. Here’s how you can use coconut oil and aloe vera to grow your curls. Give this treatment a try, and you’re sure to love how your strands increase in length.

What you’ll need:

One half cup of aloe vera gel (try to find one that’s natural without extra additives), 2 tablespoons organic coconut oil, 1 teaspoon raw, organic honey, and 1 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil, or capsule. That’s it!

What to do:

Gather your ingredients together, and get a medium sized bowl. Melt the coconut oil, so it’s warm but not boiling. Add all the ingredients together, mixing until smooth. Finally, add the Vitamin E.

Hop in the shower, and wash your curls using warm water with a gentle cleansing shampoo. Then, take the product and start working into your curls. Use your fingertips to work it in, making sure to take the time to give yourself a great scalp massage. This will encourage blood flow to the scalp, as well as remove build up. Both of these things will help your curls grow faster.

Allow it to sit for about 15-30 minutes before rinsing out with warm water, then follow up with your favorite deep conditioning treatment. You can repeat this treatment once a week until you notice some improvement in your curl growth.
