Ingredients:

Fortuntely, you might already have many of these ingredients on hand at home. However, if you don’t they’re relatively easy to source. You’ll need 1/2 tablespoon of fenugreek powder, and 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel. You can adjust these ingredients as needed, by adding more or less depending on how long and thick your curls are. For thicker, longer strands, add a bit more of both. Additionally, if you have other concerns you’d like to address with this mask, you can add in appropriate oils, such as tea tree for itchy scalps, or castor oil for strands that are slow to grow.

What to do:

Measure out your ingredients, and add them to a bowl. Mix together, blending until somewhat smooth. It won’t be totally smooth due to the fenugreek powder. Once fully mixed, bring the bowl to the shower with you. Gently wash your curls, completely cleansing your strands. Make sure to gently massage your scalp while applying it, and then pull the rest of the mask through your hair. Squeezing excess water from your strands, apply the mixture throughout your strands. Completely cover your curls, and allow it to sit for at least one hour.

If your strands are particularly damaged, or need some extra TLC, you can leave this mixture on overnight. Make sure to cover your curls with a shower cap before going to bed to protect your pillowcase. When done, rinse out with warm water and follow with your favorite conditioner.

You can use this treatment once a week, or as needed to encourage healthy curl growth. The fenugreek will promote healthy growth, while the aloe vera soothes dandruff, and helps keep your scalp healthy. A healthy scalp will help limit the amount of curl fall you may experience.
