If curls are dry, brittle, or prone to breakage, you might want to consider using Shea butter. It's moisturizing properties will protect curls from damage. It also works well as a UV protector during the warmer months.

Babassu oil:

If you have light, fine waves or curls, you might find some oils are too heavy for your curls. To avoid weighing down strands, try picking up babassu oil.  It will add strength and moisture to damaged, dry curls to help minimize breakage. It also helps soothe a dry or irritated scalp, making it an essential oil to use during the summer months.
