Rather than running out to the store when you run out of deep conditioner, consider making your own curl care mask. These are the easiest masks you can make at home. These masks are made with ingredients you probably already have right at home, and will give your curls a great boost of hydration.

The Easiest Masks You Can Make At Home

Avocado and peppermint:

This one sounds interesting. Take one full, ripe avocado and mash it until smooth. Blend it with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and 2 tablespoons of raw, natural honey. While doing this, steep one cup of peppermint tea, and then allow it to cool. Mix it all together until it creates a smooth paste, and then apply it to your scalp, massaging it in. Once massaged into the scalp, pull it through your strands and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing it out.

Coconut conditioner:

We’re always on the lookout for a great, moisturizing treatment for our curls and this one is super easy. Take one can of coconut milk, and soften it. Add together with 1/2 cup of filtered water, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice, 1 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil, 2 tablespoons of glycerin, and add 10-15 drops of your favorite essential oils. Mix all the ingredients together until smooth, then apply throughout your curls. Cover and allow it to sit for 20-60 minutes, applying heat if you’d like.

Shea moisturizing mask:

Take 1/4 lb of shea butter, and melt in a double boiler, mixing until it becomes completely smooth. Remove from the heat and allow to cool, but not to completely solidify. Place the butter in a bowl and use a hand mixer to whip until it achieves a whipped-cream consistency. Add in 2 tablespoons of honey, and 2 of olive oil. You can also add in essential oils if you’d like, such as tea tree or lavender. Continue to mix until all the ingredients are blended, and then apply throughout your curls, and allow it to sit for an hour before wahsin gout with warm water.
