Growing out curls is on a lot of our minds. Whether you're new to wearing your hair naturally curly, or have always rocked curls, many of us want longer hair. While we can't change the amount our curls grow in a month, we can keep our hair healthy. This means your curls will be less likely to break off, or become damaged.
Instead of dealing with short, broken curls, you can take control! Here's the easiest curl growth mask ever. It's most likely most of these ingredients are already in your home, or are easy to get. Give this luxurious, homemade mask a try. If it works for you, make sure you drop us a line and let us know.
The Easiest Curl Growth Mask Ever
1/2 cup raw shea butter
2 tablespoons organic coconut oil
4 tablespoons Jamaican black castor oil
6-8 drops rosemary essential oil
5 drops lemongrass essential oil
1 tablespoon rose water
What to do:
Gather and measure out all of your ingredients. Soften the shea butter and place into a mixer. Blend the shea butter until it's whipped up. The consistency should be light and fluffy. Add in the coconut oil, and mix until it's fluffy again.
Add in the remaining ingredients one by one, continuing to beat the mixture so it stays fluffy. Once all the ingredients are completely blended, scoop out and place in an air tight jar. Store in a cool, dry place.
How to use:
Apply throughout freshly washed, wet curls. Make sure to add extra to areas that might be dry, and need extra support. Massage into your scalp for ten minutes. This will encourage blood flow and circulation to the scalp, which facilitates growth. The ends will be moisturized and hydrated, which minimizes breakage. Cover your curls and allow the mixture to sit for at least thirty minutes. It can be left on overnight for very dry curls. Rinse away in the morning with warm water and a lightly cleansing shampoo.
