Replenishing Curl Care Masks

Like it or not, we can be hard on curls. We expect a lot from our hair and sometimes this can lead to damage. Whether its from heat, the elements, or even a lackluster curl regimen, sometimes curls need some help. Here are some great replenishing curl care masks you can make at home.

Replenishing Curl Care Masks

Mayonnaise Mask:

1/4 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons virgin olive oil

For shiny, hydrated curls with a great boost in volume. Mix the ingredients together, adding more as needed for longer or denser strands. Completely cover your curls with product, then cover with a plastic cap. Allow to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing away with cool water and a gentle cleanser.

Avocado Mask:

1/4 cup ripe avocado

1/2 cup ripe banana.

This mask works great to help restore luster and shine to dry, frizzy, and damaged strands. It's loaded with tons of healthful vitamins and minerals, as well as healthy fats that can do wonders for curls. Smash both the avocado and banana into a bowl and blend together until smooth. Wash your curls with a gentle shampoo and squeeze to remove excess water. Coat your curls in the product and allow to sit for 1-2 hours. Do this up to once a week to see healthier, shinier curls.

Banana Mask:

1 whole ripe banana

2 tablespoons raw, organic honey

The mask that works well for dry, damaged hair. Curls will be left silky soft and smooth after this treatment. Smash the banana in a bowl and mix until smooth. Add in the honey and blend until fully incorporated. Apply to freshly washed, damp curls and make sure all strands are completely covered. Clip curls up and cover with a cap or warm towel. Allow the mixture to sit for up to 2 hours before washing out with cool water and a gentle cleansing shampoo.
