Getting great curls isn't always easy, but knowing which oils for great curls you need can be half the battle. You may have noticed by now, but curly hair tends to be on the drier side. Why is this? Due to their corkscrew shape, it's harder for the natural oil your scalp creates, called sebum, to make it's way down the curl shaft. For those with straight hair, sebum makes its way down the hair much more quickly, which helps keep moisture locked in. Curls need a little extra encouragement. This is where oils for great curls come in.

 Oils For Great Curls:

Jojoba Oil:
  • Most closely replicates natural oil
  • Moisturizes dry curls and reduces frizz
  • Has antimicrobial properties that eliminate dandruff and scalp issues
  • Removes build up
Castor Oil:
  • Help boost scalp circulation and encourages hair growth
  • Moisturizes distressed strands
  • Seals curls down to prevent and help manage breakage and split ends

Coconut Oil:

  • Penetrates into the curl strands to offer superior deep conditioning
  • Adds back in lost protein to help take care of curl structure and integrity
  • Keeps dandruff and dry scalp under control

Avocado Oil:

  • Deeply penetrates into your curl's strands to hydrate and heal
  • Smooths down rough, dry cuticles to make curls look smooth and soft
  • Gives back lost protein
  • Protects strands from further damage due to washing, chemical and heat treatments

Olive Oil:

  • Great to use to seal down dry and distressed strands after hydrating and deep conditioning
  • Works into the strands to add back in lost moisture
  • Encourages scalp turnover, which will remove dandruff and build up to promote growth
  • Helps minimize frizz and flyaways, which creates smoother, shinier curls
