What you'll need:

This DIY conditioner is packed full of healthy ingredients for your curls. Remember, you can adjust this based upon your curl's individual needs. For example, if you have long or dense curls, you can double the recipe to make more. To get started, gather 8 tablespoons of Shea butter, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, 2 tablespoons of raw, organic honey, and 15 drops of rosemary essential oil (or any other oil you may prefer.)

What to do:

Warm the Shea butter so it's soft, but not melted. Place into a blender or mixing bowl and begin blending it. Add in the other ingredients one by one, blending completely between so the ingredients are fully incorporated. Finally, add the essential oils, and store in an air tight jar. Store your conditioner in a cool place, and don't hesitate to remix it if needed before use.

How to use:

Woo hoo! You've made your very own curly hair conditioner. Now, you get to use it. Remember, Shea butter is a very moisturizing, healthful ingredient for curly hair. When your strands are dry or distressed, honey will help smooth down any flyways and keeps splits to a minimum. The aloe vera adds in necessary moisture, so overall you have an awesome conditioner.

Wash your curls with your favorite shampoo, and then apply this moisturizing conditioner throughout your curls. Avoid the roots, and focus on the midshaft down to keep your strands from getting weighed down. Cover your hair with a shower cap and allow it to sit for 60 minutes for an extra deep conditioning treatment. When you're done, rinse away with cool water, and enjoy smooth, hydrated, and gorgeous curls!
