How To Make Your Own Conditioning Bar

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons raw shea butter

2 tablespoons cocoa butter

2 tablespoons bees wax

2 tablespoons coconut oil

2 tablespoons mango butter

1 teaspoon argan oil

1 teaspoon avocado oil

30 drops orange essential oils

That’s it! Now it’s time to get started on making this glorious creation.

What to do:

Using a double boiler, combine all the ingredients, except for the essential oils. Slowly melt until completely combined, stirring throughout. Once all the ingredients are melted and smoothed together, add in your essential oils. If orange isn’t your jam, you can use just about any other scent that works for you. Pour into molds of your choice. If you don’t have a mold, you can also use a muffin tin lined with cupcake liners. You’ll get about 4, 4 oz bars from this recipe.

How to use:

After the bars have cooled, they’re ready to go! Wash your curls with your favorite co wash or shampoo. When you’re ready to condition, grab your bar. Rub the bar between your hands to soften it and create a light layer of conditioner. Then, using the prayer method, coat your curls with the conditioner. Repeat as needed to make sure all of your strands are completely covered with conditioner. Avoid applying directly to the scalp, and instead focus on the mid shaft down.

Rinse out with warm after about 5-10 minutes. Close your cuticles with a blast of cool water, and get ready to enjoy smooth, soft, and moisturized curls!
