DIY Curly Spray Gel

Taking care of curls can be expensive. Additionally, many curly girls are interested in knowing exactly what they’re putting into their hair. Many curly girls have avoided using gel because it can leave curls crunchy. However, this DIY curly spray gel won’t. Not only is it all natural, it’s easy to make. As a bonus, you’ll know exactly what’s going into it. Give it a try and report back!

Ingredients:

1/3 cup fresh aloe vera gel

1/2 cup warm filtered or distilled water

2 tablespoons organic cane sugar

10-15 drops essential oils based upon your curl’s needs. Some good choices are tea tree, chamomile, and lavender

1/2 teaspoon vitamin E oil

Fine mist spray bottle, glass or plastic

What to do:

Put the sugar in the warm water to dissolve. Allow it to cool by placing it in the refrigerator. Once completely cooled, mix the aloe vera gel, the sugar water, Vitamin E, and essential oils. Blend until completely mixed together. Pour the mixture into a fine mist spray bottle. You might need to use a small funnel to get it all in.

How to use:

Wash and conditioner curls as normal. Remove excess water. Apply the spray gel either directly to curls or to the palms of the hands, rubbing it through the strands. Allow the curls to air dry until about half way dry, then finish up with a diffuser while scrunching the curls gently.

For great second day curls, use this gel spray to spritz and refresh curls. Use it following a light mist or water spray, and apply throughout. Focus on areas where curls have flattened or dropped. Flip curls over, and lightly scrunch. Allow to air dry and enjoy refreshed, beautiful curls.
