The DIY Curl Defining Gel You Have To Try

What to do:

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, you can get started. In a double boiler, or in the microwave, you can start by melting the shea butter, beeswax, and olive together. Melt slowly, blending to prevent the products from burning as well as allowing them to incorporate. As the products melt, remove from heat, and place to the side in a mixing bowl. One by one, add in the other ingredients, and slowly blend so the ingredients begin mixing together. If you’d like, you can adjust the ingredients to suit your individual curls’ needs. For example, if you have finer curls, you might want to cut back a bit on the beeswax to avoid weighing down your strands. You can also consider adding in your favorite essential oils to help enhance the product.

Once you’ve blended the product, scoop it out and store it in an air tight jar. If needed, you can mix it up again before using. Apply after showering and a leave in conditioner to help form and shape your curls. Apply throughout your strands, and scrunch upwards to help shape your curls. Allow your strands to air dry, or use a diffuser to help hasten the process.
