If you've adopted the Curly Girl Method for taking care of your hair, good news! You don't have to spend a bundle, or travel to your hair salon for Curly Girl Method approved products. Products can be very spendy when it comes to taking care of your curls. Luckily, you can get some great products at your local drugstore or big box store without spending a whole lot.
Yes to Carrots Nourishing Shampoo:
While some curly girls shirk shampoo, others who follow the Method choose to use one occasionally. This ultra rich and hydrating shampoo won't leave your strands feeling lifeless or straw like.
L'Oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner:
Have you completely sworn off shampoos like some curly girls? If so, you're going to need a great cowash to stand in. This L'Oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner fits the bill. Not only is it super cheap, it also is free of dyes, sulfates, and silicones.
Suave Naturals Conditioners:
You still need a good conditioner in your tool kit. For less than $2, you can have a 22.5 oz bottle, which is more than enough to last you a good long while. It also has a great hypoallergenic formula which makes it a good fit for all types of curls and skin sensitivities.
Tresemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish Conditioner:
This is another cheap and easy to find conditioner. This product is the replacement for the discontinued and much beloved Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner, but it is also silicone free, so it makes a good stand in.
Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner:
You still need to have a rich, ultra moisturizing conditioner to help you get through the harsher months, such as winter. While this is the most expensive product on the list at $10, it is loaded with certified organic and all natural ingredients. The $10 price tag still makes it a better value than most other products with a higher price point.
Vo5 Herbal Escapes Conditioners:
Vo5 is another super inexpensive and yet effective product. These conditioners are fantastic not only for conditioning and cowashing, but can also be used for detangling. Since they're so inexpensive, you can slop on as much as you need to make sure you get through all of your worst tangles safely and effectively.
Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel:
A lot of curlies pick up this gel because it gives light, well moisturized hold without making your curls crunchy or gross. However, this gel is not 100% natural, as it does contain preservatives and stabilizers.
