Ingredients:

1/2 cup organic, full fat coconut milk

1/3 cup liquid castille soap, scented or unscented

1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil

10-15 drops essential oils, such as lavender, rosemary, clary sage, or rose

What to do:

In a large mason jar add the coconut milk, melted coconut oil, and castille soap. Add in the essential oils. All of the ingredients should be at room temperature to prevent the oil from seizing. Stir the mixture until completely smooth.

Once the mixture is combined, it can be poured into a mold of your choosing. A silicone mold will make it easy to remove later on. Place the mold into the freezer, allowing it to sit until there it’s completely solidified. Pop out and store in your freezer or in a cool place in a sealed jar.

How to use:

Congratulations! You’ve just made your very own, healthful shampoo bar without any artificial ingredients. Your curls will love you for it. You can choose to keep the bars for yourself, or share with friends! They make fabulous gifts.

Before showering, remove a bar from the freezer and take into the bathroom. Completely saturate your curls, and wash your strands with the bar. The small size works great for curls, as you can work in sections. Scrub your strands in small circles, focusing on the scalp. Once your strands are clean, rinse away and follow up with a conditioner.
