DIY Curl Care Products To Make With Coconut Oil

If you haven’t already, it’s time to jump on the bandwagon and start using coconut oil in your curl care products. Coconut oil has been used for hundreds of years for a variety of purposes. It’s ultra hydrating, and therefore restores moisture to dry strands. Here are some DIY curl care products to make with coconut oil. Let us know which you’ve tried!

DIY Curl Care Products To Make With Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil Curl Spray:

2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil

1 cup distilled water

5-6 drops vitamin E oil.

Pour all the ingredients into a clean spray bottle. Shake to completely mix. Spray onto damp curls for a boost of moisture before styling, or use to refresh second (or third, and fourth) day curls.

Coconut Oil Curl Cream:

1/2 cup organic coconut oil

2 tablespoons virgin olive oil

5-6 drops lavender essential oil (swap out for any you prefer. Melt the coconut oil and blend in the olive oil and essential oil. Allow to cool. Apply throughout clean, damp curls to help restore moisture and redefine curls.

Coconut Oil Hair Mask:

1/2 cup organic coconut oil

3 tablespoons raw, organic honey

Melt the coconut oil and mix in the honey. Blend together until completely mixed. Coat your curls from midshaft down, cover and allow to sit for 30-60 minutes. You can also use heat. Wash out with cool water and a gentle shampoo.

Coconut Oil Shampoo:

1 cup fractionated coconut oil

1 cup castile soap in a scent of your choice

5-6 drops vitamin E oil

4-8 drops essential oil of your choice

Mix all of the ingredients together into a small bottle. Shake until well blended. Use as you would any shampoo. Focus on cleansing your scalp by massaging your hair in small circles. Rinse away with cool water.

Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner:

1 cup organic coconut oil

1/2 cup distilled water

5-6 drops essential oil of your choice

Using a hand blender, mix all of the ingredients together until whipped. Apply to your curls after shampooing and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Rinse away with cool water.
