Have you ever heard of ghee? Neither had we! It turns out ghee is useful not only in cooking, but also to help moisturize your curls! Ghee is a clarified butter product and a staple in Indian kitchens. Aside from being awesome to cook with, ghee can also be used as a moisturizer for skin and hair. If you skin or curls are super dry, ghee can provide the extra hydration boost your body is craving. Ghee is high in good fatty acids, which will encourage your cells to hydrate faster.

Condition:

If your curls are dry and frizzy, reach for ghee! To use, mix equal parts ghee and your favorite oil, such as olive, coconut or avocado. Mix together and apply to your curls. Cover with a cap and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Shampoo with a gentle cleanser and enjoy softer, healthier curls.

Repair:

A lack of moisture can lead to split ends, which leads to damaged curls. Warm up a little ghee in the microwave and apply it to the ends of your curls. Allow to sit for an hour and then rinse with a mild shampoo and cool water. Your curls will be much more manageable and less prone to breakage.

Shine:

If your curls are looking a little dull and lackluster, grab some ghee. Use ghee throughout your curls regularly (About once a week or so) to increase the overall shine and health of your curls. Your curls will be smoother, easier to manage and give your curls a gorgeous bounce!

In addition to being amazing for your hair, try ghee as a moisturizing boost for dry skin, dark under eye circles and chapped lips. Read more about ghee’s uses here .  Have you ever used ghee? If so, drop us a comment to let us know what you think.
